StoryMill, a mixed-use lifestyle community in-the-making, wanted to embody the unique qualities and culture of Bozeman, Montana. Somehow along the way, their message got lost. In fact, OC was introduced to StoryMill when the Bozeman City Commission was one vote and one meeting short of not approving this LEED-ND urban infill project.

Working with the developers, OC distilled and unveiled the true StoryMill message. OC engaged the community in a conversation that included op-ed newspaper pieces, town hall meetings, letter-writing campaigns, city commission testimonies, and even YouTube videos. We helped illuminate the benefits associated with this historically relevant piece of real estate — benefits to the economy, environment, infrastructure and society.

The community became aware of this urban renewal project. Locals got involved and invested themselves in the future success of StoryMill. Opponents became proponents. Because of this commitment and movement in community sentiment, commissioners worked together and voted unanimously to approve the unique project.
